Piping Designer

About the role

This is a role for a detail-oriented piping designer who takes pride in a clean, clash-free model. You'll develop the 3D piping model in SP3D, produce the full set of deliverables, and keep the design coordinated across every discipline — on projects in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, power and process plants.

It's hands-on engineering with real ownership: your layouts and drawings go straight into project execution, and your eye for standards and safety keeps the work on schedule and on spec.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain the piping 3D model using SP3D (SmartPlant 3D).
• Prepare piping layouts, equipment modelling, routing studies and piping arrangements.
• Generate deliverables — GA drawings, isometric drawings, pipe-support drawings and plot plans.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, electrical and instrumentation teams.
• Run model reviews, clash detection and design optimisation.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and safety requirements.
• Support project execution within schedule and quality parameters.
• Take part in interdisciplinary coordination meetings and design reviews.

What we're looking for

• 5–12 years of piping design experience on industrial projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with SP3D (SmartPlant 3D).
• A solid grasp of piping design fundamentals, materials and layout practice.
• Project experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, power or process plants.
• Familiarity with international standards and engineering practice.
• Confident reading P&IDs, equipment layouts and vendor drawings.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Exposure to E3D, PDMS or AutoCAD.
• Both brownfield and greenfield project experience.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
